Ok, so i currently live in Norway... i have the Nextgentel ISP and a Inteno x5668 Router...

My line is 12Mb in and 1Mb out (We just upgraded)

Sadly we do not have fiber optic..

The things i have that use internet is mostly An Xbox, mac and 2 computers...

I have both wired and wireless INTERNET..

Now that you have the relevant info (Please tell me if i missed some), here is the actual problem...

At random times my internet simply fails to connect... i can connect to my router just fine (i can enter the 10.0.0.1 page and change settings and so on) and the lights on it are blinking
But still i cannot browse web pages... download things... connect to skype and so on and so forth...

(Power = Light on, Internet = Blinking DSL = Light on Ethernet = Light on Wlan = blinking)

Which i think is right... And.. when i run the diagnostic on the Inteno router page... i get This

So according to my router diagnostics its having trouble connection to my ISP .. right?

Any idea how i can fix this? i tried calling them but they simply said "check the lights" and so on..

Ive checked all the wires and they are all fastened correctly..

Also when the connection "fails" usually it comes back in about 1-5minutes but sometimes i simply have to just restart the router... this seems to be the only thing that helps some times...

Also the INTERNET has been going slower than usual the last couple of weeks... and ive got tons of complaints in the house about it...

If anyone has any idea whats wrong and how i can fix it it will be appreciated

And just so you don't ask.. yes i did try to reset to the old settings (i thought it was most likely my fault) but this did nothing...

and the only thing that's changed with the router is that ive port forwarded for my Xbox...

So yeah.. that's all the info i can think of atm.. please feel free to contact me at Zonnopel@hotmail.com if you want to help me out.. or simply leave a detailed "answer" below :)

Any help will be appreciated ^^

My internet used to have the same problems like yours. The best thing to do is to call your internet service provider and tell them about your problem. Be Persistent! Keep calling till the problem is solved.

My ISP had offered me after some time to change modem for free however i still had the same problems. When i told them that I will subscribe to another ISP cos i'm tired of their service, guess what? They solved my internet problem. So the answer is be persistent with your isp.

It might not be your internet. It might be your anti virus/anti spyware software. This happened to me. All of a sudden everything was slower or would just disconnect.

Check if by chance you have 2 firewalls. Windows has one and so does the anti-virus software you're using. You can turn the windows one off in control panel.

If that's not the problem, I'd still call the anti-virus software people and explain the problem. They can usually do a remote connect and diagnose the problem.

What part of Norway are you from? My Dad is from Stavanger and I have relatives all over.
