Question:
How fast is 768 kbps speed? Comcast is offering it for $25. Is it sufficient? And is it worth it?

I use the internet to email, read news, surf graphics intensive websites and blogs, watch YouTube videos, watch music videos online, and download stuff. I don't game. I don't care about download speeds, but I do care very much about the speed of loading graphics-heavy pages. I hope it's a lot faster than dialup!

Currently I have 10 Mbps for about $70 and graphics-heavy pages and videos load instantly. I hope I won't be feeling deprived if I get 768 kbps?

My internet connection is ~860kbps, I can watch YouTube videos fine, I jsut have to leave it buffer for a few seconds and then I can watch it with no problems. Downloading large files takes a long time though... :\

768 kbps would be less than 10% of the speed of your 10 mbps connection, so there would be a massive descrease in web browsing and video streaming perfomance. I wouldn't even try watching Youtube videos with anything under 1.5 mbps, and I probably would have difficulty watching with anything under 3 (due to buffer/load times).

You would feel deprived. I lost my job in May of last year and had to downgrade to 768. It is almost as bad as dial up, seriously. You can forget about watching You Tube videos. Also, Comcast is ripping you off. I get mine for $9.99 per month....don't get it.

It's not very fast, what you have now is quite a good deal faster. It's certainly usable, but if money isn't an issue, I'd keep what you have. Also comcast sucks.
