I've tried flock which excels in multimedia and social networks, firefox which is just a very dependable browser but uses too much ram, opera which is very efficient and has nice features but not enough support from sites, and internet explorer which isnt that great but a good backup since almost every website is designed to work on it. What browser in your opinion out of these and others is the best one?

I prefer Opera - have you tried the latest official version 9.20 ?

If a site doesn't recognize it (rare these days) I just choose the option to Identify as Firefox.

I use v9.21 build 8776 which I find stable, from the latest build of Opera : http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog .

I find it has so many native features I don't look for add-ons.

From what I hear, IE7 still has lots of bugs, incorrect implementations, incomplete CSS2.1/DOM2/HTML4 support, incomplete or buggy support for CSS 2.1, HTML 4 and for DOM 2.

Opera supports all major Web standards currently in use, including CSS 2.1, XHTML 1.1, HTML 4.01, WML 2.0, ECMAScript, DOM 2 and SVG 1.1 basic.

Firefox all the way! Seriously it has the best interface (over the new IE one [gag]) and is generally less prone to vulnerabilities, although some will disagree. Also it isn't made by Micro$oft, so 10 points right off the bat there, lol.

Personally firefox for speed, specially with fasterfox plugin, and skins, opera is the most secure, IE is only good when you want to drag and drop files to a ftp server.

The answer to this question is, it depends. If you are more comfortable with the old style IE, then stick with it. But if you are looking for something new, then I would say go with Mozilla. This one works for me and I find that it has less problems than IE.
