what does MSI mean?

When my computer is first turned on, a window pops up which says: Windows Install......preparing to install. This is replaced with the following window message: Norton 2006.....preparing to install....Almost immediately, another smaller window pops up which says: SETUP......the MSI must be launched thru setup with an exclamation mark inside a yellow triangle. What is MSI? and how do I fix this?

MSI = Microsoft Installer (Microsoft is abbreviated MS). Looks like the issue is coming from your new install of Norton. Call Symantec technical support.

to disable it go to start -> run -> type msconfig



enter



go to the startup tab and disable anything that says norton from opening. Once you restart it will not prompt anymore.
