As you have seen, from the above answers, most kids are smart enough to clear there Search history from there parents. But they only think they are smart. A savvy parent will first clear all cookies And temporary internet files (tools > internet options > delete cookies > delete files).

Now let the kid surf for a couple of days and go back to the same place, but this time click settings and then click view files. Set the folder for details view and look under Internet Address. This should give you a fairly good but not complete list of where they have been.

Kids often archive their Instant Messenger messages, where they are located varies by the brand of messenger they use. But they are there.

Happy hunting ;-)

well if your kids are not that smart you can view the history of all web pages they have been gone through... If they are using internet explorer then on the standard buttons just below file, edit , view and so on, you will see an icon saying history. click it. select the period when they were online and check the web sites... If you have a boy then surely he has gone to some x-rated web sites... Believe i know it...

-Open Internet Explorer

- Click Tools -> Internet Options

- On the General Tab, Click Settings

Next to where it says Current Location, it gives you the place where the history is stored.

However, if you prefer an automatic program to do this, search on download.com. I am sure there are programs which can detect the presence of questionable content on your computer.

If you have a router, turn on logging. Read the manual or find a manual on line. Check the logs regularly. My router is set to autmatically e-mail me its log whenver it gets full. The kids will fill the log in a day if they are hanging out on Myspace.

depends on how old/computer savvy your kids are. I know a few *ehem* who have gotten by all the aforementioned methods.

oh, so have you tried some sincere parent-child conversations? That would be a better way to start... at least give your child the chance to be honest and to trust you...

Right click on Internet Explorers, click on "properties". Push the button that says "settings...." and then click on the button that says "view files...." and it will give you a list of all the websites visited. You can even click on them to go to the website to see what it is. Good luck!

You can check history, and see what there at, if i was you, i'd give my kids a seperate account, make it limited, and put in place every kid of protection you can. Kids are smarter on computers than you could imagine :D

Good luck
