How to change torrent clients while already downloading? (Read More)?

Alright. I have a download going on which is 8.63 GB.

34.7% is already completed. I am using Bittorrent 6.1.2 now. I want to change to uTorrent.

How do I make uTorrent recognize the already completed portion of the download from BitTorrent?

Extra Information:
- I am currently downloading the files (276 files) to "D:\Episodes\".
- I am downloading at 15 KB/s.
- I am using the latest version of both, BitTorrent and uTorrent (no Beta's).

Also, when I downloaded the torrent from Mininova, I chose to open it with BitTorrent, not 'save' it. Hence, I don't think I have a .torrent file of what I'm downloading.

Would be glad if someone could help me out.

First of all, ever since Bittorrent bought uTorrent some time ago, BitTorrent is just the uTorrent client with the BitTorrent name (although BitTorrent adds the unnecessary program DNA to its download-which you can delete separately). So there probably is not much reason to switch.

But if you want to anyways, this is the uTorrent guide for that

http://utorrent.com/documentation/migrate

As to having the torrent files, when I just use open, instead of save, I find that a torrent file is created anyways. I did not set a save torrent directory at Options>Preferences>Directories, but the torrents are saved in the Application Data folder (in your case the BitTorrent one):

To access the AppData folder to check, you can either type %AppData%\BitTorrent into the Address Bar, or click Start -> Run, and type it there.

If you are having speed issues with BitTorrent, it will not change if you switch as the two are identical.

This guide should help if you are having speed issues
