Dell Inspiron 1525 will not connect to wireless Internet connection on ubuntu 10.10 HELP!?

Hey,

I really need some help here... On my dell I have installed ubuntu 10.10 but I cannot connect to wireless cnnction it says firmware needed so I figured that I need to connect to the Internet to download the firmware, I then try connecting with an Ethernet cable but it still doesn't work? It searches for it then just says it's gone offline and I'm back to square one :s

Check out this:



"1. Download the 1420N iso with X3100 support iso from Dell site.

2. Burn the iso and boot up the DVD.

3. Select live to run live CD.

4. After live CD is run, click the install icon.

5. Install the Darwin installer to /root.

6. After installation connect the ethenet cable, this will get you online.

7. Go to enable the wireless connection and SELECT - GET THE DRIVER FROM INTERNET. Ubuntu will get the driver and your wirless connection will be wokring!

8. That is it, you get your dual boot vista and ubuntu.

It's a bit dated, from Ubuntu 7 and it's 10.10 now. But the machine is the same and the drivers should be as well.
