Does Internet Download Manager help save hard to download files such as streaming videos?

I am trying to download streaming videos off websites such as MTV, NBC, etc. and I cannot figure out how to do this. When I use Internet download manager, it just downloads an internet link such as the site key. Am I doing something wrong or is there a step that I am missing? Is there another free/cheap program that works better? Thanks

nbc's video is very hard to save

cos it's streaming through rtmp protocol

to save these videos you can use replay media catcher/flv recorder

otherwise just find a freeware like camstudio to record and save it directly

hey dont listen to the dumbos !!

u can download live videos just u need a mozilla firefox then using that firefox open live http headers download that software in mozilla it would automatically download then open the site which is playing that video then click on tools thn click live http headers then click on genrator tab u will see generator and css already clicked or checked click on them so they become unchecked then click on requst after that u will see a huge list just find the link which ends with .flv copy that link and paste it on adress bar then press enter then the downloading process starts if u r not clear then open metacafe.com and type how to download live videos u will get a video demostration of that!!



its a long process looks big but isnt !!





one more thing u need a flv player to play th videos so download riva player frm downlaod.com

No. You can't save streaming video.

limewire is good as it downloads and then saves the songs in a library straight away, hen you js have to move it into any folder you want.
