server not found but everything works is my isp compatible with firefox?

Question

earthlink is my ISP and I use firefox to connect to my earthlink home page. I get this message "server not found firefox can't find server at ad.doubleclick.net but everything works can surf etc. Earthlink says it is not their problem is earthlink not compatible with firefox or are the techs at earthlink not knowledegable for this problem. They say it is a firefox problem,but this has occurred recently everything worked well a few weeks ago

The server ad.doubleclick.net is an ad server that provides pop-ups, banners and other miscellaneous advertising for websites. Sounds like your system / browser may be blocking the advertising that is coming from that server. If you have installed any anti-adware, anti-spyware or pop-up blocking software recently, they may be the source. Just a thought.

If the website only opens on Internet explorer, then you can add IE Add-on to firefox to open the site:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419



Otherwise you can check the security settings to see if it is block..

you have a problem with adware sounds like it. This is not an ISP issue of any kind.
