Question:
FTP proxy settings?
2007-05-02 19:30:55 UTC
I am using MS Publisher to do a website...I cannot get into the FTP however when I try to publish it to the web.

This is the error message I get:

This error message is usually associated with an attempt to access an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) web site through a fire wall/proxy server and the proxy settings are not set correctly to gain access.
To avoid this error message, change the FTP proxy settings to allow access to the site.

How can I "change the FTP proxy settings"?? PLEASE be as SPECIFIC as possible - I know nothing about proxy settings.

Thanks.

Go to Start-Settings-Control Panel-Internet Options-Connections-LAN Settings

You will need to check or uncheck the "Proxy Settings" checkbox.

We endorse making use of VPNPower in order to unblock websites. I've been using them since 4 years. http://bit.ly/OCaLHd
