How can i check if a Web site is down?

I am trying to go to http://www.national-lottery.co.uk but I have not had a response for several days. I am using Norton Internet security but the page is not one I have blocked

well i have just tried acessing the website and its working fine.

i would advise you to clear the cache/temp internet files in IE and then retry.



To clear your cache:



1. On the Internet Explorer 6 Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab.



2. On the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files button. This will delete all the files that are currently stored in your cache.

Start run, type cmd and this will give you a command line...



Type this>>> Ping www.yahoo.com or whatever site it is then press enter if you are online and it times out or displays error prob site issue...

and type this command

ping "sitename"
