I just got a new ipod touch and want to connect to the internet. Unfortunately, my internet has a password and I don't know what it is (it was set up a long time ago by some internet company and my computer is just on auto-connect. It's one of those "06B8Hetcetc" things.) Is there any way for me to find out what it is?

Go to whatever computer you have that is connected to the wireless router. Go to its Administrative Settings, and just either Turn off password (WEP) protection or change the password.

I had to do the SAME THING and I just turned off password protection on my wireless router, the bad thing is that other people can get on ur internet. But its the easiest way, because to change the password you need to know it first. If you call your ISP, they will ask you a series of questions to validate who you are, if you don't know or remember those question answers they will not help you. So you can change ur security setting on your LAN wireless router, change the password, or call ur ISP and wait on hold for an hour.

Open your web browser and in the address bar type "Home" .. it should take you to your network home page and from there you can get into the password and general information on your network. You can also switch to your network being private or broad casted publicly.

Technorati Tag: Hacking Passwords

NOTE: This listing is only provided as a resource to network administrators and security professionals. It is also meant to remind people that a serious problem exists when people configure a network or a computer system and do not change these passwords. The manufacturers of the listed devices, software or systems are not to blame for this problem, and we are not trying to discredit them or their products. A default login is a means for an end user of a product to complete the initial setup of the device or system. Most manufacturers strongly recommend their end users change these logins and passwords for security reasons.

it should be somewere on your router, try underneath it on at the sides, might look like 3dsr34r-f3f3fffg-g34g or 343432434 324 234
