Question:
I use Firefox. But there is one icon on my desktop I need to open with IE. How can I make it do so?

The icon is for my FTP site, which just works better in IE. Right clicking doesn't make "open with" appear, so I can't choose IE that way. Firefox is my default browser and I want it to stay that way, but I want just this one thing to open with IE when I click on it. Help!

Try the Firefox plugin "IE Tab". You can get it here:

I second the suggestion to install ie-tabs extension. In case you don't want to do that you can make a shortcut to IE and add the website address to the end of that. This will force the website to open in IE. For example

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" www.google.com

If you are operating on a PC, right click the icon and on the drop-down list, click on "Properties". In the Properties menu, you will see something that says: "Open with:" change that to whatever program you want it to open to and from then on, it will automatically do what you set it as.

As for a Mac, I can not say for sure, but it is probably something about the same.

first of all i highly recommand you to use a ftp clients such as cuteftp, gftp (in linux) and some others to access ftp sites. second you can set up your ftp site as one of your "my network places". its easy and way better than IE or Firefox.

All web shortcuts are opened by default browser. i doubt there is a ways to satisfy your request. just same it as a bookmark in IE. open up IE first and click on that bookmark.

The pink x's are %. related from in countless places on the internet. those %. have the two been taken down from the internet internet site, or the handle of the URL to the image is incorrect. In such a lot circumstances there is not any longer something you would be waiting to do approximately it. Sorry.
