Why is my name being used to send out spam?

I just got a bogus message in my spam folder that looks it was sent from my account. Someone is using my yahoo id to send out spam email and I need to know how to stop it!

They are just spoofing the from address to get around your filters. You'd never setup a block to filter out your own email address, and they know that. It's not going out to others as you, it's just going to you as you.



Other people get the same email, but from their email address.

Ignore it it uses script to pick up your name or sends customised 'spoof' emails to many addresses where it got your details from also supplied your name
