Do you have to activate your ebay account to buy something on ebay?

Im going to buy a guitar on ebay i just need to know can i buy it when my account is NOT activated (i havent activated it because you need a home telephone to do it and i havent gont one). So can i or not?
If not then i gotta ask someone whos got an activated account on it n give em money.

No you can't buy something if you don't have a fully functioning ebay account. I'm sure lots of people these days don't have home telephones, try activating it using your mobile phone and see what happens.



Be careful if you ask someone to buy it for you. Watch out for hidden costs like postage, a guitar sounds quite a large heavy item to post (once its packaged) so double check postage charges before you decide to bid/buy.

Are you sure it says a home number? When i called its just an automated system that gives you a pass code. Try your mobile number

They actually ring yourhome number for the first apx 3 transactions for security reasons...
