My internet connection is perfect! My Mozilla Firefox works great, but I reallllllly have to update my iPod touch, asap but it say's the same thing,

"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store, make sure your connection is active".

:( hmm.... so It says i have to say internet explorer, but idk how to fix it.... any help??? please???

i know its probably confusing but i'd like to update my ipod.

In Internet Explorer go to Tools->Internet Options->Connections tab->LAN Settings button (near the bottom of the Options dialog)->Uncheck "Use a Proxy Server".

Congratulations, you have a virus. Download Microsoft Security Essentials and let it scan your computer.

The only experience I have with that is when my internet connection ran so slow I couldn't even surf the net. The problem was, I was running Internet explorer along with Microsoft Internet explorer. You can't run both at the same time or otherwise one will not work. See Mozilla is an explorer, as well as 8.0 is an explorer as well as microsoft network has an explorer too. At my house I can't run wireless and wired both on my laptop at one time, I have to disable one. Hope this helps you.

Hi Kimberly,

There are a few things you could try to help resolve your issue. Here are 3 options to try.

1. Try enabling compatibility mode. It is the broken page icon next to the refresh button on the toolbar. Here’s a good resource from the IEBlog that talks about compatibility mode in detail if you’d like to learn more: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2009/02/16/just-the-facts-recap-of-compatibility-view.aspx

2.If that doesn’t work, run IE in No Add-ons Mode.

Go to Start

--> All Programs

--> Accessories

--> System Tools

--> Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) –

If this fixes the issue, then go to Tools- -> Manage Add-ons and enable the add-ons one by one to find which one was causing the problem.

You can also try resetting Internet Explorer's settings by going to

--> Tools

-- > Internet Options and then the "Advanced" tab, and click "Reset..."

If you’re still not having any luck, I recommend you reinstall IE8 on your system.

Good Luck
