There actually ARE tons of forums out there that need moderators. I googled "forum moderaters needed" and got so many results, it's staggering! I put some of the results at the end of this.
I'd advise looking into forums where you have some interest AND expertise in the topic, such as gaming, politics, sports, entertainment, gardening and so on, look in THOSE categories and see who's "hiring".
