my yahoo! email at work. I have a filter for sites that have "web based email" or "games" tags in them. Is there any way I could bypass this!? I even tried to log on the Japanese version of yahoo but that didn't work out! It is very unlikely that I can convince my manager to allow me higher internet access...

install vnc (realvnc.com) on your home pc and download the client to your work PC, then get your ip address from home (www.whatismyip.com) & remotely dial into your home PC using vnc.

Alternatively if you run xp, setup remote desktop (making sure it is enabled on your home PC windows firewall) and then from work.... all programs> accessories> communications> remote destop & enter you home IP

Other than that get some bloody work done!

No, I doubt you will be able to convince him to give you higher access.

You will be able to convince him of one thing, TO FIRE YOUR BUTT for bypassing the security and using company time and computers for personal use.

I hope you get your wish. The ability to bypass the security and the opportunity for new employment.

try this. Type the url as below in the address bar of your browser. Or copy and paste. And replace "www.openthis.com" with the address you want to open.

http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en|en&u=www.openthis.com

(www.openthis.com stands for the URL you want to open)
