My dad is having a problem with the new drop-down address bar menu on internet explorer 8. He says that he had websites saved to the drop down menu (not as favorites or bookmarks), and they are not there saved on the new IE 8 update. He visits those sites often, so maybe they will just appear after a few more days of use.
If there is no solution to this problem, could somebody tell me how to get IE 7 back?

You probably can't get it back.
Windows doesnt like you installing older versions of stuff.
I tried to install WMP9 and "Computer says No", cause WMP11 was installed and it is more recent.
For most stuff, i would uninstall the program, completely then install the older version, it will let you cause there is no copy of any on your computer.
DO NOT UNINSTALL INTERNET EXPLORER
It will f*ck up your system cause it is used as the default browser when you click to install auto downloads, system updates and repairs!

You can get your old IE back if you wish! All you have to do is go to Control Panel, open "Update", and go to "view update history", and up at the top you will see "to remove an update, go to "Installed Updates". This is where yo want to go to remove the IE8 update! ( IE is a Windows update ). When you find it and remove it, you will automatically get the prior installed update back that you had, which should be your old IE7. Hope this information helps you out. Good luck! ( I'm still running IE7 )

The drop downs that you are referring to ...are related to the history of your internet browser. I believe the update has deleted the History of your Dad's browser..... which should not be the ideal case.... but it doesn't look like there is an easy way to get those back....
You can ask him to try the System Restore option.... but to be honest with you I am not 100% sure whether that would give him the History back with IE7.

The history will repopulate as he uses IE 8. At this point I don't believe that reinstalling IE 7 will correct the issue.
