Go with what the others said - download anti-spyware applications, make sure you have a good firewall and anti-virus.

If someone has been using your computer to look at these things (it may be as simple as clicking a link in a spam email "out of curiousity") then K9 is a good "parental control" software that requires the administrator to enter a password to access certain types of sites, such as "adult/mature content". A bit of a pain for the main user, sometimes, but better than getting stuff you don't want. However, it does use a certain amount of system resource to run.

Download and install the following (all free):

1)Microsoft Anti-Spyware (now called Defender)

2) Ad-Aware SE

3) Search and Destroy Spyware

Use these to clean the spyware and adware off your machine. If you have persistent issues that these will not fix, then you may need to go further.

Al make sure that pop-ups are disabled on your machine, these have a lot to do with it.

Another tool used to find hidden malware that needs more effort to clean is called "Hijack This". It will tell you want is running in the background of windows.

Good luck, these new bugs are pretty persistent. Once you install those programs, they should prevent any further infestations...

It sounds like you have Adware on your computer. A couple of very good spyware / adware detection and removal utilities are Spybot and AdAware.

Spybot: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1

AdAware: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-1

Download and install them, preferably both, update them, and then scan your computer.

Also, when reviewing your computer for spyware, adware, and viruses, you should occassionally check that your "Hosts" file has not been corrupted. It can be found at either \\Winnt\System32\drivers\etc or \\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

You should most likely have nothing in the Host file below the "127.0.0.1 localhost" line. If there is a bunch of stuff in there, try to find another, uneditted version over or remove everything below the "127.0.0.1" line.

I had the same problem. my grown son had a friend over when I was gone and got on these sites. I had to to the whole recovery to get rid of all of it. technical support walked me through all of it. change your password after you clean it all off and make sure you have good virus protection and spyware protection. some of that stuff is so0 horrible it is very disgusting to know people actually think like this

Before attempting to remove malware you must switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.

Run Avast and Ewido in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

Then beef up your security. Its easier to prevent malware getting on to your sytem in the first place rather than trying to remove it.

The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out. Either of these firewalls are free for personal use and stop unwanted incoming and outgoing traffic. You choose which programs are allowed to access the internet. They are both fairly easy to use and updated regularly.

Instal both these web browsers, turn off javascript on one and use that browser for vising unknown websites. They don't support Active X so thats one less way for problems to get on your pc.

Winpatrol is a handy utility that tracks cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

usually the way in which pop-up's work is that they advertise whatever you are looking at on the internet, so for example if you were searching about holidays you would gets lots of pop-ups about holidays,..some one has definately been using ure pc and looking at sites they shouldnt have done, the best thing is for you to get some kind of parental control if there are young ones using the pc, and get a decent pop-up blocker too,...and keep a strict eye on who is doing what on the web,...good luck with it.

any messages you are getting are being generated by spyware,so basically spyware is informing you that you have spyware, its a catch 22 situation, only fixed by a good clean up with several anti-spyware programs

to clean your system completely follow these instructions...

1) go to add/remove programs and remove any programs you dont recognize and anything you are not sure of,also anything you dont need(look out for any programs with names like dot.com/dot.net and any http names as they really shouldnt be in there as a program

2) use the following links and download these 3 programs

1 spy-bot....http://www.safer-networking.org/

2 adaware personal...http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

3 ewido anti-spy...http://www.ewido.net/en/

3) download and install these programs and run each of them in the order i have placed them..remember to update them all and to imunize spybot(important)

4)you are sure to find spyware with the 1st scan(spybot) and as you do each scan you should uncover more and more, one thing you will notice is a)the porn will stop appearing and 2)your p.c,s speed will dramatically increase as spyware slows your system down,in some cases ,alltogether

5)some spyware in spybot will not clean automatically, and will require a re-start,if so it is important you do this as these type of infection are the worst so restart your p.c if prompted,it may take a while to shift the infection but be patient,it will be worth it

6)once the computer is clean dont lower your guard, keep scanning every week(i run spy-bot every night),the best action is to kill spyware as soon as it gets on your p.c

also there are 2 other excellent peices of software you can download for free 1)mcafee site advisor..http://www.siteadvisor.com/,is a plug in that lets you know the saftey rating of every site you visit green(o.k) red(caution) grey(untested) i wont surf the net without it,it makes you feel safe to visit a site instead of thinking "has this site got spyware on it"

also a brilliant program called "windows defender" http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

this works in the background and is permenently checking for any spyware or adware, and it does a daily scan in the background and will stop your internet connection if anything is found, good idea ,so you cant pass the infection onto anyone unsuspecting user

final word...spyware is a ever increasing threat and we all have to be on guard while on the internet,as spyware is coming in all types of forms bots, adware, cookies, rootkits, trojans, diallers ect, there are loads more but it would take pages and pages to write them down, just follow my instructions and you should stay pretty well spyware free

i get the odd one spyware, but these are normally just cookies and if you get them, they are low rating, cookies are what websites place on our hard drives to let them know we have been on their site,

any problems ,do not hesitate and contact me

good luck

you need to go into your program files and delete these site`s manually these clever bastards have a way of installing them automatically to your files so they are there when you log on .once you have deleted them all reboot then install good quality firewall / antispyware / the free down loads only work if you have genuine Microsoft software on your system ( not everyone does ) check in your ad/remove programs aswell as they sometimes go there but defo in your PROGRAM FILES .
