Ok so you know how some games have no sound control so if there is sound on them there is no way to turn it down or off, well is there a way to turn sound off overall on the internet like maybe by going into Edit or something up the top, because i can't just turn the sound off on the speakers because i want to listen to itunes witch isnt on the internet.
Please and Thank you.

If you have Vista yes. Double click on the speaker icon in your system tray and you will see that as well as a master volume control there is a separate control for each programme running. Just adjust it till you are happy with the balance.

With XP and earlier the facility doesn't exist

your audio device may have a 'sound mixer' where you can adjust the computer alerts, the windows browser/applications sound, and your media player all separately. I just got a new computer and it has Vista Premium, not sure if this feature is offered with other software. But I am sure if you google "free audio mixer" you can download a free version of the program.

you could desire to mute the entire computing device. the quantity administration icon interior the equipment tray (many times backside suited corner of the reveal screen) sounds like a grey speaker. click on it and examine the Mute field.

You don't have control of the Internet. You can't have it both ways. Either your speakers are on or they are off. If a website plays a sound and your speakers are on, you're going to hear it.

it depends upon the browser you use.....

all most all browsers allow you to turn off sounds in the web pages.....

for example in opera you can go to preferences > advanced > content and disable sound in webpages.....
