Is this a spam email?

I got this email today. Usually when I get spam it goes right to my spam folder but this one didn't. I did order something from ebay recently from someone in the UK (I'm in California). But the email says I need to go a DHL office to get my package and I'm not even sure what that is. The email has a zip attachment, I wonder if a virus will be downloaded to my computer if I open it... Has anyone gotten any email similar to this? Here's what it says:


Your package is available for pickup.ID33639
From: DHL Express Services
To: PAPERHEARTS63
Date: Tue, Nov 2, 2010 8:45 am
AttachmentDHL_label_id.Nr776.zip
Good day!

Your parcel has arrived at the post office on October 12
Our Driver was unable to deliver the parcel to your address.
To receive a parcel you must go to the nearest DHL office and show your mailing label.
You need to print mailing label, and show it in DHL office to receive the parcel.

I received the EXACT same email today but I know it's spam because I haven't ordered anything. Delete it.

The best thing to do would be to call your local DHL office and check with them if they have a package.



If you did order something recently then I'd say it's legit, especially since you've never probably gotten this before, but I'd think you would have received at least one notice on your door that DHL stopped and tried to deliver or needs a signature.



Still, the best thing would be to call DHL and ask.

I hated spam fritters as a kid and was forced to eat them by a cruel dinner lady! Used to get spam sandwiches at my nan's house too but can't say I really enjoyed them

Call the DHL and give them the ID number. Don't pay any money for it, until you know what it is.

Download microsof security essentals, its a free virus protecter/remover. Once you downloadef it right click on the file the click scan. It will tell you if it has a virus or not.
