Internet explorer 8 (not 7 or that 6 ****)

is pretty darn good actually, definitely loads pages faster than FF (Win 7 x64 at least). FF used to be the superior browser, but now with IE8, it's really just a matter of personal preferences.

There would be different opinions from different people as people are two kinds:

1. Those who browse light webpages like simple email checking, ebay etc.

2. Those who surf heavy webpages containing lot of scripts and css.

Internet Explorer is better for light webpages and the all new Internet Explorer 8 overtakes Firefox 3 in terms of speed. But Internet Explorer does not have a powerful download manager. It gives no pause/resume support. Also, it hangs when opening heavy pages.

Firefox 3 is better for users who do heavy websurfing and download more. It has a good download manager with pause/reume support, and unlike Internet Exlplorer, it doesn't hang on opening heavy pages.

Conclusion:

Internet Explorer is better in terms of speed, and light browsing. Else go for Fiefox.

Anyways I love Internet Explorer.

I think Internet explorer is working well for me, but for each one there enough reason to use and don't use

Internet explorer is in core of windows and any problem in it is mean problem for windows, if you get infected with Internet explorer is mean all your windows is infected. usually it can be unstable if you use many add-ons, every tab (IE8) open as a new process so it taks a long time to load and... anyway IE 8 is much better than old ones

Firefox support many add-on and so you can make it a very secure browser, for example add-ons like "NoScript" , "CSP", "RequestPolicy" and... still it's not secure eough. because it's based on same old Netscape...

both of the, IE and Firefox are based on old codes that are just improved, if you want a really good browser, you can try Google Chrome, it's a browser that is programmed by a new language and all codes are new and as what hackers said, it's still must difficult browser to hack, the only problem about Google Chrome is that still it don't support add-ons. anyway it works very fast, load itself fast and open web pages quick too.

Its personal preference, Use both for a while and see which one you like best, I prefer Internet Explorer. Some ppl will argue that firefox is the best while some will say IE is the best.

As some ppl seem to be saying its not a matter of preference, How can it not be ?? Stupidest thing i have heard, I have tried both browsers and i have always PREFERRED Internet Explorer.

Firefox is, in my oppinion, extra suitable to internet Explorer in each and every way. this is quicker, safer, much less annoying to apply... however the only component that wins me over many times are the upload-ons. There are 1000's! Adblock Plus - block classified ads - flash classified ads, banner classified ads, and so on. and save the bandwidth and the cookie hassles that those could have created. acquire Statusbar - places your downloads on the backside of your exhibit as a replace of an worrying pop-up. FoxyTunes - administration your song participant devoid of leaving Firefox. Noscript - improve your secure practices by skill of only allowing JavaScript while this is needed! CookieSafe - improve your privateness by skill of only allowing cookies while they're needed! AJAX Yahoo! Mail - open and study a million to 10 to twenty e-mails all on one web site. All in all, the internet's a lot much less annoying and extra relaxing in Firefox.

Internet Explorer is very standard one. However, Firefox is very flexible to use.

I prefer Firefox because.

It uses less amount of memory to run.

Availability of numerous number of add-ons.

Lesser size.

Easy to run.

Lower h/w requirement ... and many.

IE is proprietary software, meaning Microsoft owns it. Which means Microsoft writes it.

Firefox is open-source, meaning any smart hacker (programmer, not cracker) who has an idea how to make it better, can.

So naturally, it'll be better. Plus, sweet extensions. I haven's seen one of those 30 second "online episode sponsored by" ads in ages.

EDIT: Not to be rude...but it is in no way a matter of preference, Firefox is a recompilation of Mozilla's Netscape...which, in it's day, was supreme.

In this way, it's more experienced than IE, and it's actually secure, something IE simply is not (which is why they just released, what is it now, version 8?)

Personally i think Firefox is better. The program itself loads faster, web pages are loaded quicker, so i think it's better, even though i use both browsers.
