During a recent update my Internet Explorer automatically updated from IE7 to IE8. And now it is taking ages to load. IE7 loaded in about 10 seconds on average. IE8 is taking nearly 2 minutes! Once it has loaded, though, everything works just fine. It's just the taking so long to load that I find annoying. I've tried to go back to IE7 but whatever I try I keep getting error messages and I can't removed Internet Explorer completely and start again because it's not showing up in my Add/Remove Program in the Control Panel.
P.S. Before anyone says use Mozilla Firefox, I already have that as well. I also have Google Chrome and Opera browsers but I just need IE for some applications.

In your question you say that you "need IE for some applications", can you add some info such as which ones?

For some years now I have used almost exclusively Firefox and with most types of web applications and have never encountered a problem that only IE can cope with. The only problem is with older websites that were built years ago or badly coded and so are only optimised for IE, but a Firefox add-on called IE Tab renders them correctly.

IE is a core component of Windoze but unless you have an absolute need to use it, I would just ignore it and use Firefox with IE Tab. If you must have an IE based browser then get Avant Browser,

http://www.avantbrowser.com/

Which is what IE should have been (and it's free)

Again please tell us what applications you run that MUST have IE.

oh come on . firefox is plenty extra beneficial . to be honest Iexplore continuously seems to be In BETA no count no count if it quite is a "stable" launch or what . Firefox can decrease yout bandwith yet once you may desire to re-deploy Iexplore . This replaced into already responded by employing , twistedpython's his placed up reads . "the way I did it replaced into to pass to function/get rid of courses, clicked "coach updates" and then appeared for the explorer replace and informed it to get rid of it. i've got executed that two times, yet do be careful and make a set element and/or backup your archives first, because of the fact the 1st time i attempted it some years in the past to roll IE 6 returned to IE 5, it did no longer uninstall it good good and it completely destabilized the completed homestead windows OS, in spite of the reality that it mentioned the roll returned replaced into effective. I had to reinstall homestead windows from scratch or perhaps then, the pc replaced into continuously slower than it have been. That replaced into homestead windows ME, yet warning remains pronounced because of the fact Explorer is so built-in with the homestead windows OS."
