go to whois and search the domain name. The contact information is in there. They own the rights to the domain. You need to either buy it from them or hope they let it expire. It looks like it expires on 10/10/09

As has been stated you will have to either acquire it from the current owner or get it after it expires if they do not renew it. I have found an article that I think is very informative and well help give you an idea of what the process is like and what you can expect in your quest to get any domain name that is currently held by someone. In my opinion if you can buy it for a reasonable price from the current owner that may be your best route

This article was written in 2005 and many changes may have developed since then so you may need to dig some more before the domain expires so you are ready to do battle, so to speak.

It has not always been this way and used to be much easier.

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

As an experienced webmaster I recommend BlueHost service which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.

They are a Multi-awarded Web Hosting which offer a Full-featured service only $6.95. You can see their Plan Details accompanied with reliable reviews regarding their service at:

http://bluehost-service.atspace.com

Here I have copied and pasted its features from their website to view:

- SSH (Secure Shell), SSL, FTP, Stats

- Free Site Builder

- 24/7 Superb/Responsive Sales/Support

- Free Search Engine Submission

They also offer "Free Site Builder" that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program. (WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Get)

You can't unless the owner of the domain gives the domain to you. You can "who is" the domain to find the owner. Look up a "who is" tool and by entering the domain you want, you might find it's owner (unless it's registered privately).

good luck.

I agree with Lelani.

You will have to contact that company and buy it from them. It will probably be really expensive.

That means it is "parked" which means someone owns it and isn't using it.
