Is it legal to download the tor browser and access the dark web?

I have not interest in accessing the dark web but I would like to know if it’s legal to download the tor browser and access the dark web.
Also,
Is it safe?

That's perfectly legal to download the browser and access what they call the dark web. But let me tell you a little something when you do this you paint a big red bull's-eye on your *** and it tells every government official in every FBI agent hey this guy has a Tor browser! Look at him dodging and ducking all over the Internet waves! That would be a good guy to keep an eye on and see what kind of illegal transaction that he does. First off don't get the idea that you're going to download this Tor browser and instantaneously be introduced to a world where everybody's advertising drugs and cocaine and heroin and guns! And pornography! There is no catalog full of illegal items out there! and the chances that you're going to get ripped off are 10 times what they are if you buy off of your local Black market Street corner. But please by all means download the browser and learn for yourself.

Yes, of course it is legal. Millions of people use Tor every day. It is also legal to access the "dark web."



If you follow the instructions that Tor provides, it is also quite safe, but of course not 100% safe. You still need to be careful.



And of course if you actually DO anything illegal on the dark web -- or on the regular internet -- with Tor -- or with any other browser such as Chrome or Firefox -- well, that's still illegal, but not because of "Tor" or "the dark web" but because of "the law."

Yes, it’s what you do on there that could be illegal. Just like you can do illegal things on the “normal” internet



Not everybody using Tor browser is doing illegal stuff, some just care about their privacy.
