Go to Tools >> Options >> Advanced >> Encryption
Make sure "Use SSL 3.0" and "Use TLS 1.0" are checked.
Click the button "Validation" and checkmark "Use the OCSP..." and select the top bullet.
If all those are already selected, maybe it's your DNS acting up. Try using OpenDNS. Or maybe your hosts file got messed up. Maybe you have security software installed that has messed things up. Maybe you have malware trying to redirect you to phishing sites instead of the real Gmail.
You can try this addon-- http://convergence.io/
It might fix the certificate problem. If it doesn't, you really aren't visiting secure sites.
Don't switch to IE, if anything switch to Chrome. But Firefox isn't the problem, so there exists a solution other than switching browsers.

i'm not sure about the "invalid url" error..but the "expired certificate error is due to wrong system time"/bios battery might be empty.change you system time and try ones more...
If it still goes on try to reinstall firefox
.. I just got only a little knowledge about the computer...so you may try this ,and findout ...
