Question:
How to get passed school blocks?
2013-11-07 23:18:24 UTC
First off my school blocks on "Web Category" if i try to visit a site like youtube.com i get this message "This site (youtube.com) has been blocked because the web category "Web Streaming" is not allowed." I have tried proxies and they are blocked because the web category "filter Avoidance" is not allowed. I have tried a payed VPN (Private internet access), I have also tried using the Tor network which also does not work. I am pretty much out of ideas I would appreciate any ideas! Once upon a time i made a proxy on my home net work which allowed me to visit sites that just had text on them i still could not reach youtube.com.

Hi Zettabyte, i'm sorry to hear your problem, and i think i can guide you to the solution, at lease i hope that :)

First of all, you need to understand how your school filter work, from your question, it filter by (web category), that's mean it access to the description of the web page to know it's niche or category.

most proxy sites type in their description the words (proxy) - or (proxy site) to get more visitors from the search engines, that's make them under the (filter Avoidance)

but also some owners of the proxy sites knows the solution, and doesn't type any words may refer to the filter avoidance, so you can use it.

Ok, all that great, but what is the fastest solution for you?

the fastest solution is by trying a lot of proxy sites till you found one can work for you.

1- Go to http://www.Spanklol.com and if it blocked by a web filter, just try the other one: http://spankproxy.blogspot.com/

(this website gives you a new proxy site every 30 min.) Enjoy.

2- Click On A New Proxy To Open It.

3- Type any URL you want to visit and click "Go"

4- Enjoy The Web

5- After Finish Do This:

If you use Internet Explorer: Click (Alt), then (Tools), then (internet options) and Delete the browsing history.

If you use Chrome: Click (Ctr+H), then Clear Browsing Data.

If you use Firefox: Click (Ctr+Shift+Del), and delete Everything.

I Hope my answer help you resolve your problem and safe your privacy.

Have a nice day :) - please rate me, thanks.

The best way to pass through a school blocker is to use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) or if you are in a PC go home use a HOME computer and search for Tor Browser and put it in a flash drive take the flash drive to school plug it in to a school computer, setup the program and when it asks you where to setup the files, just PUT THEM ON THE FLASH DRIVE, NOT THE PC. Wait for the program to start and you will be given a fake IP address and change it here and there so no one will know it's you and if anyone asks what browser your using just say Firefox, because the browser looks like Firefox. And be sure not to try to sign into any sites unless you have a security phone two step verification method, because it will lock your accounts up, and the site will say someone from: IP tried to sign in with your account. So there you go...

Hi,

I am surprised that you have tried Tor and it doesn't work. You should try another VPN preferably a paid service. Makeuseof has an interesting article on how to bypass internet censorship that includes some more advanced workarounds. Maybe you should check them out, I have added the source URL below.

Your school does not allow streaming. It doesn't matter if you through a proxy or not, it is still streaming data. You will need to provide your own connection to the internet rather than trying to violate your school's policies. Cough up the $40-$50 a month to get the service you want, even if that means a 4G hot spot.

I think this blocking is from the router that you connect to it and can not do anything just change your Internet connection source or hack it and change the blocking address !!!

You can use a web proxy website to bypass restrictions. My favorit website is http://www.zalmos.com/

It works fine for me.
