Ebay item damaged?
So I sold some infant formula on ebay. I sent it priority so they taped it up and everything. Obviousally the item was damaged and some of the powder spilled between my post office and theirs. Who's fault is this. The buyer wants a full refund plus shipping. If they file a pay pal claim who pays the refund? Do they refund shipping also.

If you didn't wrap the item properly to withstand normal mail handling, YOU are responsible for the damage. If the seller paid by Paypal and files a claim, they will get the bid price AND shipping cost refunded back to them.

hi there. i have been doing ebay for a long time and have an on line shop with ebay. once an item is sent and has left ur hands it is no longer ur responsibility. buyers always have the option of purchasing shipping insurance for matters such as this for if a item is lost or damaged during transit. you are under no obligation to offer a refund. ebay will only give a refund to the buyer for item over the amount of $25. if the buyer lodges a 'damaged item dispute' u will have the option to have Ur say. the worst that can happen is the buyer gives neg. feedback but u can respond to that so other buyers know what had happened. hope this has helped

1) Offer buyer a 50% refund of total (P&P & winning bid) if s/he chooses to keep the item.



2) If buyer chooses not to keep the item, ask buyer to return the item via TRACKABLE postage and refund her the total amount (both P&P & winning bid) once you have received the item & inspected it.



If buyer puts in a claim via PayPal (item signifficantly not as described) they will ask the buyer to send you photographic proof and/or return the item via trackable postage at their own expence anyway, but, a claim via PayPal can take time.



You will not be obligated to refund their extra postage.



However, if you value your feedback, then refund buyer the postage
