Question:
I have to keep disconnecting from my wireless network then reconnecting in order to have internet access?

I currently have a Netgear Wireless Router which is connected to a Verizon Modem. Let me preface this issue by saying, I have had this set-up and had NO issues for the past 4-5 months. It wasn't until the last month that I started having connection issues. Also, there is another laptop which we use, and it's NOT having the same issue as I am.

The issue: I will be connected to my wireless router (have a FULL 5-bar connection), be browsing the web, and all of a sudden a webpage will not load (as if I have lost connection). However I will still have all 5-bars, and it shows as being still connected to my router. It is only when I manually disconnect from my router (via my computer), then reconnect when I get internet connection. However this is short lived, as it only lasts about 5-10 minutes max, before I have to repeat the same process.

I understand this must be an issue with my computer. Quite possibly a driver issue? However I am not sure how to fix it. I tried to research it, but I'm being taken to some questionable sites to download questionable drivers.

ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!

Also, if it helps, I have an HP Pavillion dv6 (bought it last year). Running windows 7.

P.S. After attempting to submit this question it happened again, so I had to hit the back button on my browser, then reconnect in order to submit it.

I have a similar computer (older) but no issues.

If it is still under warranty, take in to be checked.

short answer concerning to the disconnect, the partitions between your rooms are weakening the sign. in view that he's a networking pupil he can help you hit upon a 'severe benefit' antenna on your computing gadget yet maximum computing gadget shops have those. in the experience that your antenna is inner then you will could get an adapter with an exterior antenna that are replaced with a extra constructive one. Antennas are rated with db. 3-5 db is adverse. 7 db is somewhat solid. 9 db is extra constructive. this would help connect with the weaker indicators. The assorted sign difficulty would desire to be that he replaced into fiddling with various routers on an identical time.
