My Windows Vista Ultimate x64 has both IE 64-bit and 256-bit on it. I don't know why. But IE keeps crashing! How can I fix this?

Hello,

Internet Explorer is available for 32bit and 64bit versions of Internet Explorer. If you're having issues with your browser, try resetting it back to its default settings. This removes all changes that have been made to Internet Explorer since it was installed, but it doesn't delete your favorites or feeds.

Here's how:

1.Close all Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows.

2.Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.

3.Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

4.Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.

5.In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.

6.When you are done, click Close, and then click OK.

7.Close Internet Explorer and reopen it for the changes to take effect.

Let us know if this works.

uhm, that is interesting. 256 bit OS's have not been developed for home use yet...so a 256 bit program could not run on Windows.

i'm thinking you messed with your color depth or something.

how did you come to the conclusion that its a 256 bit application?

perhaps try firefox. its a much better web browser.

If your need is not specific to Internet Explorer ( eg : you have a specific website that only works with IE ) then use alternatives such as Firefox : http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
