This is most likely due to Malware (computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, dishonest adware, and other malicious and unwanted software). You will need to run full anti-virus/spyware scan and clean your registry. I recommend you use these programs (they are free).

1) AVG Free anti-virus

http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/

2) Ad-aware spyware remover

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php

3) Spybot - Search and Destroy spyware remover

4) CCleaner - registry and privacy cleaner

I'm not saying you do it......but,most virus's and spyware come from "porn"sites,,I cant tell you how many of my freinds have come to me to fix their pc due to them looking at porn,,,some of the"harder"or more"edgy"sites actually have a promotional program like the one you described...it is a lie!!!I dont belive you have a serious problem,,the program is lying to you to get you to either subscribe and spend money,or to let the organization at the other end know your personal info....What a person does with his/her pc is their own business,,but IF you ARE surfing some,,,,shall we say"off color"sites,,you will need to protect yourself....first you shopuld try everything the others have mentioned to you,,they have all given you good advice,,but then when you either suceed or fail at that,,,try and do a system restore,,go back at least a week before you noticed these "pop ups"also go into your control panel, then to "add,or delete programs"and try and delete any programs that you didnt put there or are not vital for the proper operation of your pc..some of these programs can only be removed this way,,they will usually have the name"add",or"fun"or"cleaner"or"something having to do with sales or promotions.....you sound smart,so you should be able to figure it out,,,next,,open"my computer"click on "c"then go to "programs"scan this also for any programs you didnt put there ,or ones that arent neccessary for the operation of your pc,,find them,,right click and click on delete....next after you have done this,,,,,www.privacyeraser.com....download it,then go through the options and click EVERY SINGLE BOX you can find, then run the program and all traces of this stuff will be gone...then,,,REMOVE your norton,,it is crap!!!www.pccillin.com...download it and update it,,,you will get a trial version at first,,this will help you for now and you can decide later if you want to pay for it and keep it or not....also youMUST delete any traces of "norton"or "symantech"before you try and download any new virus or spyware program,,it will(norton)conflict with other spy/virus programs and you will have problems......like the others told you,,"spybot"rocks!also go to www.lavasoft.com......download the "adaware program"it also is free and it really works....note..if you have norton antispy on your yahoo toolbar,,,,delete it.I wish you good luck...if you surf colorful sights,USE PCCILLIN....it will warn you everytime your ABOUT to make a mistake and give you the opportunity to not.........................good luck.

If your computer hangs or reboots while you are working on it , it could be a problem with device drivers , hardware or software . This problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . Detailed instructions at

http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html

Download Norton, AVG , Avast which are free antivirus software. They do protect your computer and you can keep updating them once in three days or so. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html

you have a secret agent FALCON. I had a similar element a on a similar time as in the past and in straightforward terms Webroot secret agent Sweeper ought to do away with it. Do you have an icon in activity bar the place the window pops up asserting approximately extreme errors? My spybot ought to no longer do away with it. do no longer receive something from the positioning the place it takes you to.

You have a virus downloaded to you computer. Go to your remove programs file and look for something that doesn't belong then delete. I've had it happen to me. Hopefully it's something that isn't bad. Good luck!

Download and run the following to fix the pop up problem

Shoot The Messenger

http://www.grc.com/freepopular.htm

Simple Messenger Service Disable/Enable

Windows NT, 2000, and XP hide an hidden Internet server that is running by default. It receives and accepts, among other things, unsolicited network messages that cause pop-up dialog boxes to appear on the desktop. Internet Spammers have discovered this and are spraying pop-up Spam across the Internet. The Windows Messenger server should never have been running by default, and Microsoft has finally fixed that in Windows 2003, but users of previous Windows need to take responsibility for this themselves.

spyware, virus = TROUBLE

I would really advise to use a virus/spyware scanner, or just reformat your computer.

Go to safe mode (when your computer starts press f8) and see if it still does happen and tell me

thanks
