Sorry for having to ask this question again, but, I do not have a toolbar above my IE. This means-- no favourites, no nothing!!! What has happened? I have done a system restore, and no result.

You done a system restore because the menu toolbar in IE has disappeared? Fair enough...
Try this: Right click where the toolbars should be and select 'Menu bar' from the dropdown menu.

Right-click and click the 'Menu Bar' option which I presume wouldn't have a tick next to it.

Uninstal,then instal IE8 BETA 2,this is the latest beta release and has the added advantage of the safety tab,which you can use to keep your browsing secret/private,i have tested it on a porn site which loads trojans and it works ,i ran MALWAREBITES and SPYBOT after it with no malware or trojans detected.

Try right-clicking somewhere in the window and there should be a toolbar menu where you can turn toolbars on, that should fix your problem.

It's possible you hit the F11 key, try pushing that again
