MOZ firefox

Popup Blocking

Firefox stops annoying popup windows dead in their tracks”, according to Mozilla.org, and that’s exactly what it does.

download manager

Download managers allow you to manipulate and take control of your downloaded files.

Tab Browsing

Because having too many windows open at a time can be a bit annoying, not to mention time consuming, Firefox features tab browsing.

Integrated Search Engine

Now why didn’t the IE programmers think of this? Mozilla Firefox comes with a built in search engine.

Options

Less confusing and cluttered than IE’s Internet Options is another factor in Mozilla’s Firefox.

Page Info

When right clicking on a page (PC users), selecting “page info” will pull up a window displaying vast amount of information for the webpage.

Faster Response

A typical webpage will load faster on Mozilla Firefox than Internet Explorer.

Keeps HTML Formatting

Mozilla Firefox is able to keep the html format when copying from a webpage to a text file.

Security

Because many of those malicious plug-in’s that cause your everyday web surfing into a trip to the DMV are mostly programmed for Internet Explorer, having Mozilla Firefox as your internet browser can save you tons of headaches.

Open Source Advantage

The Mozilla project is an Open Source project where thousands of independent programmers can work on finding security holes before they are exploited.

Cleaner Interface

Firefox isn’t filled with clutter such as a history button or other buttons that take up most of the area in Internet Explorer.

Smaller Download

Ignoring the fact that Internet Explorer comes integrated with Windows, Firefox is almost half the size of Internet Explorer meaning half the time downloading.

Block Images

When right clicking on an image, the user is given the option to block all images from that webpage.

Mozilla Firefox is an alternate browser to IE with features that, I believe, surpass the latter.

There are two Browsers that are better than either.

My recommendation is Opera.

The other choice is Google Chrome if you just want clear and simple, and have a powerful system, but it lacks many of the features of Opera I get the most benefit from.

I particularly like the way Opera centres stand-alone photos in the middle of the browser screen, instead of shoving it over to the left hand side the way most browsers do.

Opera takes up the least memory of any of the browsers. Astonishingly, the same program can also be used as an e-mail program and a bitTorrent client. It's ability to read aloud or be controlled by your voice is amazing.

I also love the 'fast forward' button, and 'mouse gestures'. But you don't have to worry about advanced features when starting. i didn't, for years. But now i find them terrific. Most of the things that other browsers, including I.E. 8, can do were pioneered by Opera. Including Tabbed Browsing, and what Microsoft is calling 'Accelerators'.

Firefox is able to do everything that Opera is able to do. However, you need add-ons for most of the features that I particularly like, and keep them updated.

Firefox, hands down. I've examined the new IE (version 8) and while it's better than previous versions it's still not up to par against Firefox.

IE is the worst broswer out there. I prefer firefox given the choices, But I prefer Google Chrome over Firefox. I hated chrome at first, but once I got used to it, it's far superior to the others.

Firefox, though Internet Explorer is making improvements for the better Firefox still remains "the top of the food chain" for web browsers.

If you are using it for fun then Firefox. But if you are on net for something serious, IE is better. Look and feel is good in Firefox, but a lot of websites will open only in IE.

Oh man. As you see the majority of the answers lean toward Firefox. I also want you to note that all those people have no business on a computer.

Well, it really depends on what system you have, but don't get Internet Explorer proved by Yahoo. You can't play Youtube videos, etc. No flash!

Personally I prefer Firefox.

You should really learn to choose stuff by yourself.

It really depends on the user. You should download and install all of the following:

IE

Firefox 3

Opera

Google Chrome

Safari

Maxthon

I suggest you get Google Chrome, though. Soon, it will be huge.
