Question:
Access Control List?

I realise that some people have asked a similar question, but none of the answers given seem to solve it for me. Any website I try to load using internet explorer comes up with the following message;

Forbidden
You were denied access because:
Access denied by access control list.

Firefox works fine though, so it's not my internet in general, but anything connected to IE doesn't work either, for example, the search feature on my computer and on Windows Media Player (where it searches for track information on the web).

Does anyone know what Access Control List is, or how I can fix this problem? Even if you just know what Access Control List is, it'll at least give me somewhere to work from.

Thanks.

From control panes>network connections highlight the connection, then right click and repair connection

Start>control panel>internet options>security (and privacy), change the setting in each section. Or click on "reset all to default". Try setting all to minimum, then try to access the internet, then reset to default.

start>control panel>firewall>exceptions (and advanced), or turn off the firewall, try to access the internet, DO NOT forget to turn it back on. If you can't access with the firewall off, that is not the problem.

According to Microsoft:

When you try to view a Web site after you connect to your Internet service provider (ISP) by using a dial-up connection, you may receive the following error message:

403 Forbidden

You were denied access because:

Access denied by access control list.

However, you may still be able to send and receive e-mail messages, and you may still be able to access the Internet from any other user account on the computer.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the connection for your ISP is damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, create a new connection to your ISP.
