Sent an email from my hotmail and got email saying delivery status notification (Failure), has my email sent?

Sent an email from my hotmail and got email saying delivery status notification (Failure), has my email sent? the only reason im curious is because in my sent section of my account the email I sent is there but I got an email saying delivery failure. If it hadn't sent wouldn't the email end up in my drafts?

No, the email was sent, but for whatever reason (wrong email address, spam filter) it wasn't received by who you meant to send it to.

No, I'm afraid it might not have sent. I've had that happen and yes for some reason it went into the sent box. I think the draft box is where unfinished or not saved emails are sent. Phone has the same thing for texts. Anyways, wouldn't hurt to try sending again and if it still happens you can check the address because that might not be correct. Good Luck with that.
