I have a few websites and they are listed in google, yahoo but some pages are slowly getting removed from google search engine listing. I am not sure why these pages are getting removed? These websites are launched a few months back. And they very well appeared in starting but right now only 2-3 pages are remained in the search. Can anyone help why this is happening?

If the site isn't updated very often, it will get indexed less often as well. This gives other sites a chance to catch up.

Also, if the content on those pages is reproduced on a lot of other pages throughout the internet, Google will think less of the page and it's rating will go down.

People may have put links to your site on there site so your Google Page Rank will have gone up. However, the links may now have been removed, so Google thinks your site isn't important any more.

My guess would be your content is being used elsewhere or you are using other peoples content. Try searching on Google for:

related: www.mydomain.com

Obviously replace www.mydomain.com with whatever your domain is!

Keep updating your site regularly and use unique content. Also, try to get as many good links to your site as possible. Make sure the links are from sites that are about the same topics as yours is, with your keywords in the link and are not from sites that reproduce other people's content.

Remember, Search Engine Optimisation cannot be guaranteed, the Internet is not predictable and it takes time to get a website established.

Positions in search engines vary from time to time depending on how ofter their spiders visit your sites. First and foremost it is good to have your keywords in the text on your webpages and in the metatags. Post links and ads to your website as many places as you can without getting into trouble with those websites "Terms of Service" like here for example in your question you could have had the names or urls of your sites another place i have found with high visibility is on Myspace on your about me put ads with links to your sites. Here is a good search term to do a search on "Google Bomb" this is the use of multiple pages all over the web that has the same key words in the text content and point to your main site. Another good tool you can use is free webpage submit services like http://freewebsubmission.com/ . Here is a example of using keywords "Flying Tortilla Fajita Grill" in the text of your webpage http://theflyingtortilla.com/default.aspx and how to give your site exposure when posting a question or a answer. There is no need for you to spend money for paid submits or pay per click. All my contact information is visible if you have any further questions feel free to contact me.
