Safari and FireFox dont connect while MSN and VMWare IE Works..?

Question

Safari and FireFox dont connect while MSN and VMWare IE Works, why is that?

MSN connects, but FireFox and MSN don't... in FireFox and Safari this website works:

when I ping any website or ip address, it fails all packet sending..

this is what i get if I go to any website which isnt the top one:

"Failed to Connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at gogle.com.

Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

* Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.

and in Safari this is the error i get if i go to any wbesite other than that:

"Safari can’t connect to the server.
Safari can’t open the page “http://google.com/” because it could not connect to the server “google.com”.

msn works.. everything else works.. but not safari or firefox i also use a mac 10.5.2

I wouldn't trust nadia's answer.... Anyways, you most likely have a virus, such as a trojan. My friend has been having this problem too, and he still has not gotten it fixed. I had a problem similar to this a bit ago too, I had to wipe my harddrive during a windows setup to fix it. Usually trojans and smitfrauds are the hardest to fix, so its really just easier to wipe your computer clean.



You most likely got it from an email or ad, or something like that. For more information on stuff like this see the link below. It helped me alot.

I even have Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, and internet Explorer all put in. My husband is going to college for computers and presented me to Opera. that is a lot swifter than any of the others. for college, I might desire to apply internet Explorer to get entry to their portal. it is so stressful and it takes a lot time to load something.
