Question:
Why is my upstream so busy?

Hello, I have a cable internet connection spread over a router to two computers. Lately I've been experiencing buggy multiplayer gaming and surfing - everything seems to be slower and games will lag. More than half the time now a page will not load at all and I am forced to refresh it again and again until it does.

I contacted my ISP and they have told me that my upstream flow is unusually high. Cross-checking this with my data rates on my LAN card I found this to be plausible - upstream and downstream are almost always equal (downstream should be significantly higher, shouldn't it?) I've looked into everything but I cannot find the source of the upstream usage. I run adaware frequently and this doesn't help either.

Please help, this problem has been frustrating me for over a month now.

BitMeter II

BitMeter 2 is a bandwidth meter, it allows you to visually monitor your internet connection by displaying a scrolling graph that shows your upload and download speed over time. BitMeter is freeware - no spyware, and no adware, guaranteed.

You can use it to monitor upload and downloads rates on your computer.

Is your wireless secure? Other people may be using your internet.

Are you using any online video service? Many use your computer to download their videos to customers.

Look in task manager.> processes> look for Kservice exe and end the process if it is there. This application makes your computer a file sharer for a variety of applications.

Kservice.exe = file sharing service

AOL Video License:

You should also know the following:

The Hi-Q software takes adavantage of the Kontiki Relay Network to more quickly deliver Hi-Q video to you. By agreeing to the Hi-Q license, you agree to be a member of the relay network. The relay network speeds up delivery of Hi-Q video by delivering video from other users' computer directly to you and from your computer to other users rather than always transferring the video through a centeral server.

(In other words, you will become a server to download videos)

I noticed this today when my internet activity was high even though I was not doing anything. When I stopped Kservice.exe it dropped to zero.

Are you using a wireless router? If so do you have a password to block neighbours or unwanted people not in your house from using your connection.

My in demand place in Minneapolis (granted, it rather is a especially plenty-favourite spot) is Lake Calhoun. yet specifically, it rather is a dock at Lake Calhoun only at sunset. there's no longer many people around the place it rather is distracting and staring on the sunlight set against the homes in Minneapolis is possibly between the main eye-catching sites I actual have ever seen, so it rather is nicely worth it.
