I use and recommend a simultaneous dual browser arrangement:

You can have as many different browsers open as you want at the same time , without significant slowdowns.

Use FF for general & everyday surfing needs, especially to sites you don't know anything about. Depending on how many plug-in's and add-on's you "hang" onto FF, it's faster than IE, & inherently safer.

Note: Current threats include 'Antivirus 2009' or variants.

Because architecture of the Internet (notably 'Flash' scripting), vulnerabilities are readily exploited in Internet Explorer, & it is now urgent that you use Firefox with current 'NoScript' add-on, which will prevent "opacity-based attacks".

NoScript: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...

Try viewing a site with FF first, and if it does not allow the interaction you require, switch & use IE (but only when it's absolutely necessary), or to use 'Active X' or 'Flash' scripting: but use these at your own peril. Flip back to FF when finished.

Safari, which, from what I've heard about the Windows version...is nothing like the Windows version (i.e. it actually works, is stable and fast, etc.). There are maybe one or two websites that don't work entirely correctly in Safari, and for those I usually use Firefox, but have been trying out Camino to see if I like it. I realize Firefox has a Brazillion extensions and all that, but (1) I personally want to use a *browser* to surf the web, not a three-ring circus, and (2) Firefox's performance is as piss-poor on OS X as Safari's is on Windows, so nyeh. :P

i'm not a big fan of IE but a lot of online games sites are heavily design for it However your Alternative would be Firefox. More security option and you can add a lot of cool script for protection and for other stuff as well. The biggest problem with IE there's a lot of loop hole security so you'll bound to get spyware or adware really easy just from surfing the net being on the wrong site. Not a big fan of Netscape but i find it kinda slow. Safari sucks limitation on certain sites.

hope that helps

or

Internet Explorer: A bit slower at times, but comes with Windows, and is the only browser my java works with.

Mozilla Firefox. It has the best add-ons, seems to run the fastest, and makes web programming easier. It does all the formatting very well.
