Question:
Problem downloading a file....?

ok, so i've been trying to download a video file from megaupload that's about 150MB but the download box says that the download will take more than 2 hours. About 3 days ago, this same download wold have taken only 15-20 minutes to download. I thought that my internet connection had gotten slower, but when I download a video file that is about 10-30MB, the download speed goes back up and the download takes only a few seconds. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I really need to download that file and others too, so I don't have time to wait 2 hours for each file.

I use FlashGet. Once you install it, whenever you click on a file to download, FlashGet takes over and downloads the file to your computer using several (usually 5) threads in parallel. It is much faster, and can restart if disconnected. You can use the link to get it, I do recommand.

There are a number of factors when downloading is slow 1. Is you internet connection fast enough for a start you do not say wether you have dial up/broadband 2. The server you are trying to download from may only permit you so much bandwith to download with. The lower the bandwith the slower the download. 3. If none of the above apply try downloading the file when the server is not busy i.e if i have a big download i usually leave it overnight to download. Hope this helps

Sometimes when you download files the files include adware, then when you are on the internet the adware is running silently over time after many downloads it can slow computer quite a bit.

You can get some good programs do check this at www.majoreeks.com good ones are ad-adware se personel and ccleaner. Also check taskmanager and make sure there arent unwanted programs running in background. More then likely though the problem has to do with the server on that web and the number of people on it then anything else.

It's likely that Megaupload's servers are more busy, or more people are downloading from the site, than those of the other places you're downloading from. If that's the case, which it probably is, there is really nothing you can do except hope the speed goes up. You could try and find another site providing the file you're downloading.

use one download manager like Download Accelerator or Flash Get and use high speed internet like DVB technology. of course somewhat u are right because maybe the problem was with megaupload or the stuff like that because the server of some site is fast and some sites have slow server. also u can try eMule it certainly meet all your demands
