I removed Internet Explorer(IE) from my computer and replaced it with Firefox because of the number of unwanted ads IE sends. I'm still getting these ads, every 5 seconds from IE. I thought I removed IE from my computer. Please help. I cannot do anything with these ads popping up every 5 seconds. I have Windows XP

Im guessing the ads you are refering to are Windows Messaging broadcasts.

To disable them go to Start --> Run

type "services.msc"

Scroll down to Messenger

right click it and Stop the service

Right click it again, go to properties and change startup type to Disabled.

OR get a firewall. You shouldn't have direct exposure to the internet.

Sorry dude but you cannot remove IE without totally borking Windows with it. Internet Explorer is an integral part of Windows and cannot be removed.

Your computer has spyware. Scan with both your anti-spyware and anti-virus apps.

Then get Google's toolbar and popup blocker. Then get anti-undercover agent ware and eliminate what's inflicting the popups.

It may not be removed in one chance. But if it didnt managed to delete the files.Try deleting the files manualy by unlocker.exe by searching the files in c/windows/system32/

it deletes the files before startup. it will ask that will it delete file on statup. Then click on yes.

Hope this helps you .But after that install any AntiSpyware.
