Give up on Firefox until its fixed there are currently just too many problems to rate it as a reliable piece of software. Try Orca, K-Meleon or Flock they are all free Mozilla based browsers and are all faster than Firefox with more features built in so they don't cause crashes and freezes. Update To IE8 then download Avant browser which uses it but is more secure. You can then use it on pages that firefox has problems with.

I'd stick with Firefox. It seems like IE8 is a Firefox copycat. Have you seen all the features they have built into it?

Hi, this is Feran with the Internet Explorer Outreach Team. You may consider upgrading to IE8. It is more secure, reliable and has many new, cool features such as accelerators and web slices which help make your browsing session easier and more efficient. Other features include enhanced tab browsing, InPrivate Browsing and tab crash recovery.
The IEBlog: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/ will provide you with some great information about IE8.
