Question:
High Speed Quality Internet for Evansville Indiana?
2007-12-05 10:30:50 UTC
I live & work in Evansville Indiana.

Until recently I was on SIGECOM as my ISP and I was very happy with their high speed always on cable connection. They got bought out by WOW and I am now very unhappy. Constantly dropping connections, a lot of stuff much slower, scrambled e-mails, broken links, bogus error messages, clueless tech support, almost every day I have a new gripe.

I can see that many other ISPs service my area, such as VERIZON INSIGHT AT+T

What I seek is some site(s) that
(a) identify all the ISPs that provide high speed internet service to my area
(b) provide some kind of reviews of how they compare, so I don't switch one "ISP in tho toilet" to another

I just switched from Cox Communications who had a monopoly in this area for a long time. Verizon FIOS is a fiber optic base and the clarity and speed is unreal. They are doing the best I've seen yet. If you like TV and get the whole enchilada, you won't be disappointed, I certainly wasn't, with the HD it's truly amazing. Right now they have a deal where if you get a bundle, they will give you a Sharp LCD HD TV FREE!!!!

I actually worked for Michigan Bell/Ameritech/SBC/ AT&T for 21 yrs. IF you want the fastest available, go with at&t's ISDN line. It's a little more cost wise, but for residential/small business, best out there. As far as at&t DSL line, that really depends on how far you are from the the c.o. (central office, main frame) for your speed.Verizon is making big strides, but FCC is holding them down, due to at&t owns them.Let me do some homework on that area and will give you a better detailed answer in a day...

oftentimes speaking instantaneous is plenty slower for obtrusive vulnerable connections. the ethernet connection at your hotel is in all probability gradual because of the fact youre sharing the bandwidth with different visitors on the hotel.
