How do I setup my own email server like Yahoo Mail, or Gmail? I want anyone to be availible to sign up. Is there a program that can do it for you? I know HTML. Is that enough? Am I asking to do something that takes a month or a year? Is there a way to make it in flash?

Setting up available software for this is doable. Making your own is very time-consuming. Look at squirrelmail for example, my boss seems to be using it successfully. It most likely wants to be run on a linux machine though.

The biggest cost is going to be the server system which will need a lot of storage! Nextly, you will need at least a t2 connection and you can expect to pay anywhere from a grand to 4 gs a month for these services!

Make it in Flash? I would strongly suggest against you doing this if you aren't even sure what technology is needed to make it.
