how can i get my firefox to work, it keeps sayin unable to connect to server?

Try disabling your firewall, antivirus or any anti-spy/malware programs that are running. Disable them one at a time so you can identify the culprit.

Are you connected to Internet?



go Start->Run-> "cmd", type without quotes



type "ping http://www.yahoo.com" without quotes.

four lines will be shown stating trying to ping yahoo



if there is anything like "replay from" in the beginning of the line?



if yes internet is online and working, but if you see "request time out" your internet is not working



and also check firewall settings.

running 2 browsers your PC is confused, you have to dedicate one as a default browser, I say IE as it comes with the operating system, then deny the other(s). When you install they all want to be default. So in IE >tools>internet options>uncheck box "tell me if IE is not the default browser">apply ok, restart your PC and deny the other browsers, you can still use then as you wish just stop the PC getting confused? I only use IE and I reset it if not working so no problems for me?
