Hello
So in my windows live hotmail account my emails are displayed as MM/DD/YEAR which is the american format. I however want the Britist format of DD/MM/YEAR. How do I change this? My time zone is correct, so the time that is displayed is correct. However, I want to sort it by the British format. I have done a search on the internet but I can only find references to changing the time zone (which I have corrected - yet it doesn't solve the problem).
A simple solution would be much appreciate
Cheers

Well, I've looked over the preference options for the web version of Hotmail and the downloadable client Windows Live Mail and I can't find anything that would allow you to change the date format. I think you're stuck with what you have. Changing the timezone or language options has no effect, and you can't choose U.K. English anyawy. You may have to find a different email client that has the option because it doesn't look like Hotmail offers it.

Change the language form US to UK. It's ridiculous, I know, but that's the only way.

If your dates are in A1 and B1 with the earliest date in A1, these functions will extract the difference in Years, Months, and Days: Year(s) difference: =DATEDIF(A1,B1,"y") Month(s) difference: =DATEDIF(A1,B1,"ym") Day(s) difference: =DATEDIF(A1,B1,"md") So, if A1 is 7/1/2011 and B1 is 9/3/2012 the formulas would returne 1, 2, and 2 respectively. You can put them together in a single formula: =DATEDIF(A1,B1,"y")&" yr(s) "&DATEDIF(A1,B1,"ym")&" mo(s) "&DATEDIF(A1,B1,"md")&" days"
