Actually Usenet is just a group of internet messages boards that is now Google Groups. I've also been able to read groups using the News section of Netscape Navigator.

I have to disagree with the post above. Usenet did not become google groups, it's much bigger than google. Google just came in and practically ruined it for those who try to use it properly. I agree, you would be best off researching it, it's not something that could be described quickly here.

Usenet is a way to use Newsgroups and readers for same.. I would suggest a google search on usenet, for a really good, comprehensive response.. I couldn't do it justice..

Try to read few pages abstract from the source since it may etter describe it www.rfc-editor.org. It is Newsgroup.
