how do i change my default web browser?

right now my default web browser is fire fox i want to change it to e net explorer with out deleting fire fox any one know how?

Assuming that you are running windows xp -- open the start menu, then click on Set Program Access and Defaults



Click on the the custom configuration and then select Internet Explorer -- and apply your new settings



Alternatively,



Open Internet Explorer -- Click on Tools --> Internet Options --> Click on the Programs Tab --> Click on the Make Default Button

But if you need to know.



For XP and before



Open the Control Panel and go to the Internet Options.

Click the Programs tab.

Check the option Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser.

The next time you open Internet Explorer, you should be prompted to set it as the default browser.







In Vista Open the Control Panel and go to the Network & Internet.

Go to the Internet Options.

Click the Programs tab.

Check the option Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser.

Then Click Make Defaut.

The next time you open Internet Explorer, you should be prompted to set it as the default browser.

Just go to the I.E web site and download it. One of the questions that will pop up during download or installation is "do you want to make this your default browser?". Just click yes. Installing I.E. won't delete firefox or any other browser you have on your computer. I have both on my computer with I.E. as my main browser. everytime I open Firefox (I have a short cut to it on my computer desk top because I design and build web sites and so need to test them out in more than one browser) it always asks if I want Firefox as my default browser but I just click "no" and carry on.

righ click on an internet expoloro icon, hit properties, hit the programs tab, hit the make default button. IE will now be the default web browser.

(IE7) tools--> internet options --> program --> put a check mark in the checkbox under sectoin DEFAULT WEB BROWSER.
