What does SMTP Reply Code "554 Transaction Failed" mean?

A user at work cannot receive emails from a particular sender using a yahoo email account. The sender receives an error like this:
"The SMTP Server program
: host dnsname(ip)
refused to to talk to me: 554 Transaction Failed Listed in connection control deny list."
We never see the email at our mail server at work, so it never makes it to us.
I don't know what to suggest to the sender, in an attempt to prevent this from happening again. Any suggestions?

Based on your error message, it looks like your company has black listed either that account or that domain as a SPAM source. You could try manually clear it out, but that would be your IT monkeying with your email server. You would have better luck having the sender use a different email account.

This is a generic response returned by the server if an SMTP transaction failed. This response is typically returned if too many errors were received in processing.

This type of error occurs when there is a problem with the provisioning (wiring).

Contact your ISP for assistance with this type of problem.

"Cheat codes" are secret passwords that allows a player of a video game to create an advantage beyond the bounds of normal gameplay, usually to make the game easier. Typical cheats include advantages such as invulnerability ("God-mode") or an infinite amount of some resource such as ammunition. Cheats may also create unusual or interesting effects which do not necessarily make the game easier to play, such as making enemies tougher, or giving characters (including enemies) different appearances, such as large heads. Cheats often take the form of 'secrets' placed by game developers, usually to reward dedicated players. Cheats may be activated from within the game itself; for example, by using a cheat code. They can also be created by third-party software (a game trainer) or hardware (a cheat cartridge). Activation methods for cheat codes might include entering a code at a password prompt or a pressing a combination of game controller buttons. Effects might include unlocking a character or improving a character's performance (providing a car with greater acceleration, for example.) Other entry points may be a developer console, a code entry dialog, at title screens, or in-game. Unlike other cheating methods, cheat codes are implemented by the game developers themselves, often as a tool to playtest certain aspects of the game without difficulty. One of the earliest known examples of this type of cheat is the Konami Code, created in 1986 by Konami developer Kazuhisa Hashimoto as he worked on porting the 1985 arcade game Gradius for use on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Hashimoto is quoted as saying "The arcade version of Gradius is really difficult, right? I never played it that much, and there was no way I could finish the game, so I inserted the so-called Konami code."
